The Challenge
Sales teams face a triple challenge: high training costs, inconsistent quality, and lack of objectivity. New hires go through weeks of training before becoming productive. Training quality depends on the individual trainer — there is no standardized measurement of conversational competence.
Existing methods like role-plays with colleagues or shadowing live calls do not scale. Feedback is subjective and often comes too late to correct behavioral patterns in conversations. The company needed a way to make sales training scalable, objectively measurable, and available on demand.
Our Approach
Blueprint Phase: Requirements Analysis
Together with the sales director, we defined critical conversation scenarios: initial contact, objection handling, price negotiation, and closing. For each scenario, we identified measurable quality criteria — such as active listening, needs analysis, and solution orientation.
Brain Phase: AI Architecture
We designed an architecture that uses Large Language Models as conversation partners. The system simulates realistic customer profiles with individual objections, needs, and personality traits. A separate analysis model evaluates conversation quality in real time.
Hands Phase: Iterative Development
The platform was developed in two-week sprints. After each iteration, real sales representatives tested the simulations and provided feedback on how realistic the AI conversation partners felt.
Architecture
AI Conversation Simulation
The core of the system: LLM-based customer simulations trained on real conversation transcripts. Each simulated customer has a consistent profile — industry, budget, pain points, and decision criteria.
Real-Time Feedback Engine
During the conversation, a second model analyzes the sales technique. It detects patterns such as missing needs analysis, premature pitching, or unaddressed objections, providing immediate, contextual feedback.
Progress Tracking
Every conversation is scored along defined competency dimensions. Leaders see aggregated team dashboards, individuals see their personal development over time.
Scenario Editor
Sales leaders create custom training scenarios: customer type, industry, typical objections, and desired conversation goals. New scenarios are immediately available for the entire team.
Results
- 2x faster onboarding — new hires reach productivity in half the time
- Objective quality measurement — AI-based scoring replaces subjective assessments
- Scalable training — one scenario trains the entire team without additional trainer costs
- Consistent standards — every team member is evaluated against the same criteria
- Continuous improvement — sales reps practice independently whenever they have time
